Article Discussion - Let's Talk
Dear class,
I was reading this article on organ donation and thought I should bring this to your attention.
Did you know that if you are a non-Muslim, you are automatically required to donate your organs when you die, if you choose not to opt out of an organ donation programme?
There was a recent hot discussion in the papers about this. It all started with this man who did not opt out of a organ donation programme (HOTA) and the doctors had to take out his organs for transplant when he was declared brain dead, despite his family members' violent objections.
Yet, there are advantages to the organ donation programme.
There are also people who felt very strong about programme.
What are your views on this? Do you feel right to do so and why do you feel this way?

I think when you are about 50~60 the goverment should give you a form about donate your organs.

It was the man own will to donate his organs.So It was not the goverment or docter fault.

I agree with what Kai ze had said...
Families may be horrified to find out that their dead relative acctually wants to donate his organs and can't accept the fact and 'protest'...Donating organs is not a bad thing..It is something that some people call charity work..
We make our own choice,if u want to donate them,we donate them...But it might be better if u discuss this with your family members first..

I think that the man is wrong.Because he did not inform his family about donating his organs out.Beside,donating organs is not a bad thing,it is a part of charity.And also,we make our own choice,if you want to donate them,we donate them.BUT,if we donate,we can save some lives.Lastly,we must discuss this with our family members.

i agree what teng fone and kaize said the man should tell his family that he want to donate his organs and the goverment or hospital should give the senior citizen a form about donate yours organs and the form should be in both language

erm...
not discussing about donating the organs is a wrong thing but donating then is good as it will save lives....and i agree with irene that we better discuss about donating organs with family members first.....
